Louis-Ulysse Chopard established his high-precision watchmaking factory in the Swiss Jura region in 1860. He started with high-quality pocket watches, earning him the support of Tsar Nicholas II. The 1960s and its acquisition by a German goldsmith marked a turning point for the company. In 1976, the innovative Happy Diamonds watch collection was launched, featuring mobile diamonds integrated into the dial. Chopard subsequently diversified into luxury jewelry and sports watches.
