"18th Century Lacquered Crest Box"

Rectangular makeup box, or patchbox, made of Chinese lacquer panel, very fashionable in the 18th century. It opens thanks to a hinge onto three small compartments, two covered and one for placing the brush. The lid is dark with a mirror. The “coral” colored lacquer has decorations of animals and pagodas. The frame and the pusher are in gold. Two gold diamonds adorn the small internal lids, in tortoiseshell. The brush is also in tortoiseshell.
