Cape Buckle in its Case

The history of jewelry

Born in 1818 in Berlin, Jules Wiese pursued a career in France, becoming one of the most skilled chasers of his time. A goldsmith and jeweler, this German settled in Paris in 1839, joining the workshop of the famous goldsmith François-Désiré Froment-Meurice as a foreman.
He established his workshop in 1844 and registered his trademark. He was awarded the "first class" medal at the 1855 World's Fair. In 1880, he handed over the reins of his workshop to his son, Louis Wiese.
