The house Miller

Boucheron is one of the oldest contemporary jewelers in history, with a creation dating back to 1858. It was also the first to establish itself on the prestigious Place Vendôme in Paris. The innovative talent of its award-winning founder, Frédéric Boucheron, attracted a wealthy, even royal clientele. He was notably the first to offer an asymmetrical necklace without a clasp, and the first to set a necklace with a 159-carat sapphire.

The history of jewelry

The late 1930s marked a stylistic transition in jewelry. While Art Deco continued to influence, more massive and sculptural forms emerged. The term "rack" refers to a gear mechanism, often a toothed bar. In jewelry, this translates into a design that evokes a system of gears or stairs, with articulated links that fit together in a precise and graphic manner. This interplay of volumes and lines is typical of the late Art Deco period.
