Charles X period ball book in mother-of-pearl The inside of the book is lined with ivory-colored silk.
It includes: an illustrated calendar dated 1828, the twelve months of the year, illustrated with putti, a collection of poems “the merit of women” by Gabriel LEGOUVE, and a cardboard weekly planner. The frame is decorated with arabesques, swords, a quiver, a lyre, laurel branches, and a helmet.
Authenticated antique object, rigorously checked in the workshop and certified.

It closes with its Roman sword-shaped stylus. Dimensions: 10 cm X 7 cm The covers are made of Burgau mother-of-pearl. The mount is made of very finely engraved bronze. The spandrels are chiseled with caduceus decoration. The cover is centered on two winged young men on a sphere with butterfly wings. They support a crown that holds the word "souvenir".

This is the story of Gabriel Legouvé (1764-1812), a playwright who was highly regarded during the Revolution and the Empire and who also enjoyed dabbling in poetry.
