Magnificent Napoleon III pear-shaped salt or perfume bottle
The paintings are treated in polychrome enamel, it has a rich frame in chiseled and openworked yellow gold with scroll decoration. The stopper has the same decoration and opens with a hinge on its small internal cork stopper with a gold grip. Eagle head hallmark. Great freshness of colors.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, salt bottles were mainly used as a fashion accessory and a wellness item. They usually contained aromatic salts, often made from mint or other essences, and were used to invigorate or refresh people who felt unwell or fainted, especially in bourgeois and aristocratic circles where elegant women wore very tight corsets that caused them discomfort.
