In 1975, Bulgari offered a handful of hand-picked clients a watch engraved with "Bvlgari Roma," initially not intended for sale. Given the success and covetousness aroused by its bold and timeless design, the house decided in 1977 to make it a regular series, called "Bulgari-Bulgari."
