The history of jewelry

In 1932, Cartier designed the Tank Basculante to meet a unique need: to allow owners to turn the dial over to protect it or engrave a secret message. This ingenious system, patented in collaboration with Jaeger, makes the Basculante an elegant cousin of Jaeger-LeCoultre's Reverso, but with Cartier's own vertical pivoting mechanism.
