The story begins when Fred Samuel opened his Parisian boutique in 1936. A pioneer in cultured pearl work in France, he built his reputation with his bold creations while collaborating with several renowned artists such as Jean Cocteau. His masterpiece remains the vintage Force 10 bracelet, born in 1966 from his passion for sailing, featuring a double braided cable combined with a boat shackle as a clasp. Fred Samuel was born in Buenos Aires in 1907 and arrived in France with his parents at the age of 16. In 1936, he founded Fred Joaillier, a French jewelry and watchmaking company. He was one of the first designers to introduce cultured pearls into his jewelry. He quickly became famous, as his clients included movie stars such as Marlene Dietrich and Grace Kelly.
